This role will focus on highway and bridge projects throughout Texas and offers a unique opportunity to help grow and shape our local Drainage practice while leveraging existing client relationships to expand our business.This role presents an exciting opportunity to help grow and shape Jacobs’ local Drainage practice in San Antonio. In addition to leading technical delivery, you will have the chance to leverage your existing client relationships, contribute to business development efforts, and support strategic growth across the San Antonio market. As the team expands, this position offers a pathway to increased leadership responsibility, influence on project pursuits, and the ability to mentor and develop future drainage engineers while helping strengthen Jacobs’ regional presence.You will work in a collaborative, fast paced team environment and provide technical leadership on drainage design and hydraulic analysis for transportation projects. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff, contribute to business development efforts, and support the long term growth of Jacobs’ presence in the region.Key Responsibilities• Work collaboratively with project engineers and multi disciplinary teams to deliver enclosed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projects• Perform drainage analysis and design in accordance with project requirements and applicable agency criteria, including TxDOT and municipal entities• Provide hydraulic analysis for cross drainage structures and integrate results with roadway and bridge designs• Design and analyze stormwater quality facilities• Support preparation of contract documents including drainage drawings, specifications, estimates, and quantities• Prepare project specific drainage and hydraulic reports and technical memorandums• Contribute to business development efforts by leveraging existing client relationships and supporting the growth of the local Drainage team• Assist with mentoring and technical development of junior engineers as the practice grows
#LI-JM5#WCTRANSPORTATIONHere's what you'll need• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. ABET accredited institution or equivalent• Professional Engineer registration in Texas or the ability to obtain within six months if licensed in another state• Eight or more years of experience delivering drainage design and hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for mid to large scale transportation projects• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate drainage design across all project phases with other disciplinesIdeally, You’ll Also Have• Working knowledge of TxDOT and other municipal design criteria, standards, and specifications such as City of Austin, Travis County, and Bexar County• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer Drainage and Utilities• Experience designing roadway enclosed storm sewer systems• Experience with stormwater facility design including detention and water quality treatment• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for cross drainage structures• Familiarity with HEC RAS, HEC HMS, and HY 8• Experience with GIS software such as ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or QGIS• Experience with advanced modeling tools such as HEC RAS 2D, XPSWMM, or InfoWorks ICM
