  At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.Your impactIf you are ready to bridge the gap between our world and our people, join Jacobs.  Let’s build for a brighter future together.  Jacobs is much more than just a traditional engineering company.Jacobs is looking for a talented Bridge Engineer to join us as a vital member within our Northwest Bridge Team.  Located in the Boise, Idaho or Spokane, Washington areas, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of transportation projects in both the Northwest and nationwide.  Our transportation projects include highway and railroad projects; from projects in rural areas and National Parks, to urban projects through the heart of our cities; traditional design-bid-build delivery as well as alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR), and Public-Private-Partnership (P3) projects. You’ll use your experience to work within multi-disciplinary teams, providing technical expertise in completing transportation structure design and construction projects from conceptual and preliminary design to final design and construction.  You’ll see opportunities to work and grow in all aspects of structural design including development of structural calculations/designs, drawings, specifications, field inspections, cost estimates and reports.  Your experience will also lend well to training, directing, and mentoring junior engineers and CAD staff.  You’ll also coordinate design activities and meetings between Jacobs staff and subcontractors and assist in business development activities and proposal efforts.

#LI-JM5#NWTRANSPOHere's what you'll need•    A minimum of 5 – 10 years of progressive experience as a Structural Engineer in the design of transportation structures and/or bridges•    Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university or college•    ID Professional Engineer License (or the ability to obtain within one year)•    Experience with multiple structure types including precast and post-tensioned concrete girder bridges, steel girder bridges, bridge widenings, and bridge rehabilitations•    Experience in preparation of construction drawings and specifications•    Strong technical skills and a thorough understanding of technical standards for bridge design, construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance including AASHTO LRFD, AREMA, and state-specific guidelines•    Knowledge of various software packages like LEAP Bridge, PGSuper, MDX, spColumn, LPile, BrR, BRASS, Midas, CSi Bridge, Larsa, SAP2000, etc.•    Familiarity with ProjectWise and MicroStation•    Familiarity with FHWA requirements and guidelines•    Ability to produce technical memorandums and reports•    Experience with project quantities and cost estimation•    Ability to manage multiple tasks and small projects independentlyOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
