The selected candidate will possess a solid grasp of quantity surveying basics, an awareness of local project environments, and familiarity with relevant regulations. Working under the supervision of senior colleagues, the JP2 team member will support the creation of precise and dependable Bills of Quantities—both priced and unpriced—as well as cost estimates for projects spanning roads, bridges, railways, aviation, buildings, ports, marine works, and other areas of civil engineering. This position provides a valuable opportunity to enhance your technical skills, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and advance your career within a well-structured project framework.KEY COMPETENCY – Technical Skills
- Participate in the preparation of comprehensive Bills of Quantities by diligently measuring and estimating required materials and quantities, ensuring full compliance with project specifications and technical drawings.
- This role involves working on a variety of building and infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, railways, aviation facilities, buildings, ports, marine works, and other areas of civil engineering.
- Participate in the creation of detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses for different components throughout the various phases of project execution.
- Regularly update and manage cost databases with pertinent project information.
KEY COMPETENCY – Soft Skills
- Show adeptness in using recognized industry software such as iTWO Cost X, REVIT, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office. Experience with Civil 3D and Navisworks is a plus.
- Maintain strict adherence to relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including CESMM3, NRM, POMI, MMHW (UK), and applicable Indian codes.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of construction regulations and standards for building and infrastructure projects and consistently exhibit high attention to detail and precision in all work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate technical skills in assisting with the preparation of Bill of Quantities and cost estimates for a range of infrastructure and building projects, working collaboratively as part of a larger project team.
- Support quantity take-off and validation of quantities and estimates under the guidance of senior staff.
- Apply a clear understanding of work procedures and contribute to achieving project completion within established timeframes and budgets.
- Work effectively under supervision to meet deadlines, ensuring assigned tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Communicate with counterparts in the lead office or with clients as required, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to gather project information.
- Take the initiative to consult experienced quantity surveyors and get involved in training sessions to further develop your professional abilities.

Here's what you'll needQUALIFICATIONS:A Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
EXPERIENCE:A minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in quantity surveying and cost estimation for building and infrastructure projects across India, the Middle East, UK and USA.At Jacobs we value people.
