You will assist our team in solving a range of problems and learn about industry-standard procedures and software. You'll work alongside experienced Engineers and Project Managers, gaining valuable insights into the field of transportation engineering. Your Responsibilities May Include:
- Work in a team environment with other project engineers on the detailed hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage analysis and design of urban and rural transportation related projects.
- Provide support in the preparation of contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.
- Assist in basic highway/roadway design calculations
- Perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision.
- Performs other duties assigned by the Group Leader and other team members.
Here's what you'll need
- In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in an accredited program with an emphasis in transportation
- Interest in hydrology, hydraulics, drainage design, roadway design, and transportation engineering.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office program
- A member of SHPE and attendance at SHPE 2025 National Conference in Philadelphia, PA
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- 3.0 GPA
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation
- A previous internship related to your field of study
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs
- Self-driven time management and organizational skills
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
