The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Designer to join our Aerospace and Equipment team at one of our offices in Florida (Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Merritt Island, Miami, Orlando, Tallahassee, or Tampa).  The Senior Civil Designer will work with a team of highly skilled engineers and architects who will provide mentoring and guidance to advance your professional skills to achieve professional licensure or advance your career. This position will be responsible for supporting the design of launch sites, vehicle support facilities, and ground support equipment across the globe within the Aerospace and Equipment practice. Essential Functions: 
  • Land development and civil engineering design of various types of projects with the Federal Government (NASA and Department of Defense), and commercial Aerospace companies.
  • Usage of AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil drafting and design:
    • Design of water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, paving, and grading improvements for the project.
    • Design grading, erosion control, sanitary sewer, water, storm sewer, and roadways.
  • Review and/or approve conceptual and detailed engineering design packages.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7 years of civil design experience, specifically civil site design and preparing construction plans including roadway, site, drainage, and utility plan preparation.
  • Ability to prepare 3D models and layouts from design concepts using AutoCAD Civil 3D, with MicroStation and ARCGIS knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering construction drawings.
  • Field inspection and construction management to assist the Construction Services Team is a plus.
