About This Position:Interns evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional types of plans, development of planning studies or reports, investigations, or surveys with relatively few complex features under the general guidance of a Project Planner/Engineer or Project Manager.  This work is on small projects or portions of larger projects. Typical projects include transit, highway, traffic signal, bridge design, long range transportation planning, traffic impact studies and transit planning. Essential Job Functions:
  • Data collector in the field.
  • Perform specific portions of a broader assignment of an experienced planner/engineer/inspector.
  • Perform standard computations or basic analysis.
  • Prepare drawings and visual aids.
  • Observe construction activities.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment inventory.
  • Perform design tasks.
  • Perform quantity estimates.
  • Attend project meetings with senior staff.
  • Responsible for writing report sections.
  • Responsible for basic QA/QC tasks; review of own work,
  • Assists at various meetings including public and client meetings.
Job Requirements:Working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in related discipline such as civil engineering or planning from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent. Self-motivated and strong work ethic.  Strong organizational skills required; ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Pay Range:$20.80/hour – $27/hourPay is based on applicant’s ability/experience and position location, and will be rated accordingly.EXTRAsAt Creighton Manning, continuous learning and mentoring are part of our DNA.
