CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PRACTICEMichael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.DESCRIPTIONMichael Baker is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to lead our dynamic construction services team in Philadelphia! This is a high-impact role where you'll be at the forefront of delivering exceptional infrastructure projects for our valued clients. The Senior Inspector will play a critical role in ensuring that construction projects across the City of Philadelphia meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage a team of construction inspectors, overseeing daily assignments, schedules, and performance.
- Ensure quality and compliance by reviewing field conditions, verifying construction locations, and performing precise measurements.
- Drive project success through detailed documentation, oversight of progress payments, and coordination with contractors and client representatives.
- Provide expert insight by identifying constructability issues, interpreting plans and specifications, and recommending solutions.
- Maintain excellence in reporting, punch list creation, and digital documentation using PennDOT PSA and other client platforms.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- 10+ years of experience in construction inspection, with proven leadership in field operations
- Familiarity with City of Philadelphia and PennDOT inspection and documentation procedures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret complex plans and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and digital document control platforms
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $35/hr - $55/hr. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location. #LI-LM1
