About Us
MB&B Architects and Engineers is a multidisciplinary firm providing integrated architectural and engineering services across Texas. We’re seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team and contribute to diverse commercial, retail, and industrial development projects.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in civil design and project coordination for commercial developments. You will collaborate closely with architects and other engineering disciplines to produce high-quality construction documents and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with architects and supervising engineers to prepare detailed civil documents, including:
- Grading Plans
- Drainage and Detention Plans
- Utility Plans
- Paving Plans
- Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Storm Water Management Reports
- Plan and Profile Sheets
- Perform stormwater conveyance and detention calculations per city, county, and DOT standards.
- Review design layouts and evaluate design concepts for constructability and compliance.
- Review submittals to verify contractor compliance with approved designs.
- Interface with permitting agencies and prepare documentation as required.
- Meet with clients and project teams to review progress and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare and update as-built drawings as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in civil design for commercial, retail, or industrial developments
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong understanding of drainage, grading, and utility design standards
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
