Job Description

The Middlesex Corporation specializes in building and reconstructing highways, bridges, marine, rail, and transit facilities through its collaborative team approach and focus on core values.  In addition, Middlesex Asphalt in Central Florida is one of the largest and most productive asphalt plants in the United States with Middlesex Paving earning an equally solid regional presence and reputation. Position Summary:The Paving Tool Truck Driver plays an essential role in supporting paving operations by transporting tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites. This position requires hands-on experience working with paving crews and a solid understanding of paving equipment and job site operations. The driver is responsible for keeping tools organized, ensuring crews have what they need each day, and assisting the paving team as needed in the field.Responsibilities: 

  • Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near-misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety first, in everything we do. 
  • Support daily paving operations by ensuring the crew has the necessary tools, parts, and supplies for production.
  • Take inventory of tools and equipment at the start and end of each shift; report shortages or damaged tools immediately.
  • Secure all tools and equipment before mobilization and at the end of each day.
  • Keep the tool truck clean, organized, and stocked with commonly used paving supplies.
  • Follow all safety policies and actively participate in safety meetings and programs.
  • Assist paving crew members with general labor or setup as directed by the paving supervisor.
  • Maintain flexibility to work day or night shifts, weekends, and extended hours when required.
  • Maintain a professional attitude on-site and communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related construction experience, with at least 2 years in paving or asphalt operations.
  • Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and climbing.
  • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a team.
