Key responsibilities include conducting safety meetings, identifying potential risks, and implementing necessary safety measures. - A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a safety manager, coordinator, or trainer is required, demonstrating a solid foundation in safety management.
- Candidates must exhibit strong leadership skills, enabling them to effectively train and mentor others within the team.
- A comprehensive understanding of OSHA & NY DOB regulations is essential, ensuring compliance with safety standards and guidelines.
- The ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective measures is crucial for maintaining a safe working environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to convey safety information clearly and facilitate effective collaboration.
- Candidates should be prepared for travel, with the ability to spend up to 10% of their time supporting the New York Building Envelope office in Hawthorne, NJ.
- Possession of OSHA 30 certification is required, and OSHA 500 is preferred, showcasing a commitment to professional development and expertise in safety protocol.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S), Safety Management, Construction Management or related field OR significant experience in place of degree.
- Certification from a recognized certification board - Certified Safety Professional, (CSP), Certified Safety Auditor, Certified Safety Manager or similar, OHSA 500 Certified, DOB Site Safety Training (SST) card and/or similar industry certificates.
- Being English/Spanish bilingual is considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate and engage with a diverse workforce.
