Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing and interpreting civil, structural and geotechnical construction documents.
- Preparing estimates and proposals for ground support solutions based on your interpretation of these documents.
- Pre-bid geotechnical and structural design calculations in support of sales efforts using our in-house or commercial computer-aided design software packages.
- Communicating with Clients, Engineers and Architects in order to move the sales process forward to a successful contract.
- Negotiating contract terms and closing of sales where you are designated as the sales lead.
- Making technical presentations to prospects and supporting the educational training of Menard clientele.
- Working with other members of the sales and engineering teams on a regular basis.
- Supporting the Marketing and Business Development departments by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
- Business development and search for new opportunities and clients.
- Establishing new and maintaining existing relationships with our customers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of engineering science and technology, design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field plus 5 years of experience in geotechnical construction.-OR-Any equivalent combination of education and experience which meets the required knowledge, skills and abilities. - Prolonged periods of standing, walking and sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
