See where your commitment could take you.Who are we looking for?We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Dams Engineer to join our Dams team in any of our Tasmanian offices. With a focus on Dam Safety & Risk Assessment, you’ll play a key role in evaluating the safety of major dams throughout Australia and supporting the implementation of risk-based upgrades to support our clients in managing their dam safety risks. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to contribute to the safety and sustainability of critical infrastructure while advancing your career in a collaborative and supportive environment. Balancing work, family life and recreation are easier in smaller cities with great schools and short commute times, and you can be based at any of our offices – Hobart, Launceston, or Burnie - and relocation support is available.Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Leading dam safety surveillance activities for a range of Australia’s major dam owners.
- Leading the safety evaluation of existing dams, spillways, embankments, and related structures.
- Performing dam safety risk assessments and identifying risk mitigation strategies.
- Contributing to the design of major dam safety upgrade projects.
- Managing dam-related projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff on dam engineering principles and current practices.
- Collaborating with clients to understand their needs, providing specialist advice, and building lasting relationships.
What you will bring to the team
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Between 7 and 15 years of experience in dam engineering, ideally within a consulting environment
- Excellent project management skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
