As a Civil Engineer specializing in municipal engineering, you will work in tandem with Project Managers to make crucial design decisions across a diverse range of projects. This role spans multiple phases of municipal initiatives, from initial design to construction. Additionally, you will actively contribute to marketing efforts, engage in business development activities, foster client communication, and play a pivotal role in overall project management. This position presents a unique opportunity for professional growth, enabling you to enhance and broaden your skills in project development and management.Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Applies professional judgment to independently execute engineering tasks in accordance with established federal, state, and local criteria.
  • Under the guidance of the Project Manager, delegates and oversees tasks and schedules for junior engineers and design team members.
  • Ensures task accuracy by adhering to HR Green QA/QC processes specific to each project.
  • Executes major design tasks to fulfill the requirements of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively identifies and addresses technical, schedule, or financial issues through effective communication with the Project Manager or other management staff.
  • Assists the Client in the bidding or contractor selection process if authorized by the Project Manager.
  • Supervises construction activities and oversees field personnel assigned to a task, data collection, or a specific project.
  • Addresses contractor inquiries and concerns, and prepares and issues project addenda as necessary.
  • Has the opportunity to propose and prepare change orders.
  • May contribute to the preparation of engineering services proposals, including estimating time schedules and costs for the proposed work.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to support team members in meeting critical deadlines as required.

 Education and Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of design/engineering experience. 
  • Must have advanced knowledge of CADD (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) 
  • Experience working on local roadway design, storm water management, & water main projects a plus.
