We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues. The RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our Kinetics Group. The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and exhibit a passion for machinery design and analysis. In this role, you will contribute to the design and analysis of a wide variety of systems ranging from large operable elements for sports and industrial facilities to small intricate mechanisms for art installations. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 2 to 5 years of experience to develop their skills under the mentorship of a licensed engineering team.Responsibilities

  • Machinery Design and Analysis: Collaborate with the engineering team to contribute to the design and analysis of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrate the ability to think critically and analytically when evaluating and troubleshooting mechanical systems. Attention to detail is crucial to identify and resolve potential issues.
  • Field Work and Observation: Undertake occasional travel to perform field work, conduct on-site assessments, and gather data for analysis. This may involve working in various environments to assess the performance of machinery and systems.
  • CAD Software Proficiency: Utilize 3D CAD software, such as Inventor or SolidWorks, to create mechanical designs. Ensure accuracy and efficiency in translating concepts into detailed engineering drawings.
  • Technical Writing: Utilize basic technical writing skills to effectively communicate analysis results and recommendations. Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the senior engineering team to implement design changes, address challenges, and contribute to project timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Strong interest in machinery design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably Inventor or Solidworks.
  • Basic technical writing skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel for field work and observations.

CompensationThe rate for this position generally is $84,000 - $94,500 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
