Wright-Pierce, an award-winning, multi-discipline environmental engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure, is seeking a Discipline Design Technician (water process design) to join our company.  This position can be located in our Portland or Topsham, ME offices.Responsibilities

  • Performs increasingly complex technical drawing and model development tasks
  • Works under general supervision of the Discipline Design Specialist or responsible Project Engineer
  • Performs process piping, mechanical equipment, and site piping layouts
  • Coordinates with other building disciplines
  • Creates process flow schematics
  • Creates design models, drawings, and maps
  • Layout and CAD coordination of design
  • Develops clear and concise drawings for bid and construction
  • Utilizes company drawing development standards and guidelines
  • Manages work within given project budgets and schedules
  • Supervise, coordinate, and direct activities of others, as needed

  • Able to build strong relationship with coworkers
  • Excellent attention to detail

 Experience

  • 8 years’ progressively responsible experience using specific and advanced computer-aided design applications in water/wastewater industry
    • Candidates with less than 8 years of experience in a related field may be considered
  • Experience using design and modeling software including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM in water/wastewater design
    • Experience with Revit release 2016 or newer (Primary)
    • Experience with AutoCAD software release 2014 or newer (Secondary)

Physical Requirements

  • Minor lifting and physical activity as part of occasional field work
  • Able to perform field site visits with occasional overnight stays

Education

  • Associates degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience
