Job Description

Position: Water/Wastewater Construction InspectorLocation: San Diego, CASalary: $125,000- $175,000Are you passionate about ensuring the integrity and safety of water and wastewater infrastructure? This leading Engineering, Construction, and Inspection firm is currently seeking a diligent and experienced Water/Wastewater Construction Inspector to join their team in San Diego, CA. As a vital member of their organization, you will play a critical role in upholding the quality and compliance standards of their water and wastewater projects.Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of water and wastewater construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor construction activities, including excavation, pipe laying, backfilling, and installation of treatment equipment, to verify adherence to industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Document and report any deviations from approved plans, as well as deficiencies in workmanship or materials.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address technical issues and resolve construction-related conflicts.
  • Review construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and permits, to accurately interpret project requirements.

Experience Needed:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in water and wastewater construction inspection or related field.
  • Proficiency in interpreting construction plans, specifications, and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations, such as those outlined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications Needed:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Certification as a Water Distribution Operator or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator desirable.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to construction sites.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office and project management software.
