SurveyorStart your survey career at a Best Places to Work company.  Wood Rodgers is hiring a Surveyor to join our Survey Division located in Pleasanton, CA.  This position will perform various tasks associated with land surveying and mapping, such as ALTA Surveys, Records of Survey, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, plats and exhibits, legal descriptions, easement documents, and Construction Staking setup for a wide range of public and private projects and clients.We bring new ways of solving old problems.We take the traditional surveying and mapping approach while utilizing the most up to date surveying tools and sensors to convert field data to model the earth’s surface to another level by applying innovative ideas to give our maps more dimension.If you are serious, dedicated and driven to uncover new and exciting solutions, and to evolve in the ever-changing survey profession, then Wood Rodgers is for you.   • Prepare detailed drawings from sketches, plans, specifications, and written and verbal instructions using civil, survey and computer aided drafting programs (i.e., AutoCAD Civil 3D).
  • Interpret field notes and sketches.
  • Perform various computations including closure, precision, and calculations for surveys, plats, easements, etc.
  • Using software to assist in production of detailed topographic surveys utilizing data collected from conventional and GPS surveys, terrestrial and aerial LiDAR.
  • Preparing ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Record of Surveys, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, and other various survey related documents.
  • Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for parcel and easement acquisition.
  • Compile land title information from title reports and records research.
  • Pre-calculating survey data pertaining to construction surveys.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 The Ante

  • High School diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) is preferred.
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge in reading and understanding construction plans pertaining to construction staking.

Things we’d like to see

  • Must have knowledge of boundary and legal principles.
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong knowledge in reading and understanding construction plans pertaining to construction staking.
  • ESRI Geographic Information System (GIS) experience, a plus
  • Project experience with land development is preferred.

If there is an offer, the salary presented will consider several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and training. Base pay is just one piece of the compensation package offered by Wood Rodgers.Pay Range$38.50—$48.25 USD
