Do you have a passion for shaping the future of transportation infrastructure and driving positive change in our communities? Joining our team means contributing to meaningful projects which have a lasting positive impact on communities and the environment.  Gannett Fleming is currently looking for a Project Manager – Transportation Engineering & Planning in our downtown Toronto office to join our established and growing team!   The successful candidate will have a strong background in Transportation Engineering and the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) planning process. They will manage a portfolio of municipal / transportation projects for public sector clients. The successful candidate will be an effective leader who can successfully motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams. This role will involve direct project management, team leadership, and strategic planning and business development for complex transportation initiatives.  Responsibilities  

  • Management of several concurrent multidisciplinary projects including municipal class environmental assessments, transportation projects, encompassing planning, design, stakeholder coordination, community engagement, and implementation.; 
  • Serving as a technical expert on larger transportation and transit projects; 
  • Maintaining project schedules and budgets; 
  • Implementing quality management systems to elevate project outcomes and uphold standards of excellence; 
  • Review infrastructure design including roadways, utility relocations, site grading and drainage; 
  • Mentorship of junior to intermediate staff; 
  • Participation and technical leadership in business development activities and proposals. 

Education | Experience:

Qualifications  

  • 10 Years of experience including project management experience 
  • P.Eng. designation; Professional certifications, such as PMP, are highly regarded. 
  • A university degree in civil engineering, urban planning, or a closely related field is required. ;  
  • Technical excellence in municipal roadway design;  
  • Strong understanding of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) process; 
  • Understanding of traffic engineering principles; 
  • Strategic, conceptual analytical thinking and decision-making skills; 
  • Knowledge of industry standards, permitting/approval processes, and various delivery models / contracts; 
  • Strong written, oral communication and negotiation skills, including experience making presentations to senior management, elected officials and the public; 
  • Existing relationships with municipal clients in Ontario / GTA; 
  • Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage tight deadlines, uncertainty, and change;
