Job Description

What You Will Do:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated entry to mid-level level ITS engineering professional who wants to join an exciting team of transportation professionals in the GF Transportation Operations (TOPS) Practice in Boston. As an ITS Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on ITS, traffic signal, tolling, and managed lanes projects throughout the country and will gain valuable experience in alternative project delivery methods.  Candidates must be comfortable with regional travel to client sites once or twice a month, however primary  work location will be from the Gannett Fleming Boston office. We offer hybrid work environment. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing engineering design services throughout the project life-cycle, from concept through construction.
  • Developing engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
  • Apply strong writing skills and engineering planning to develop guidance documents and reports such as systems engineering documents.
  • Researching emerging and innovative technologies and solutions.
  • Interacting with clients to relay clear, concise and consistent project related updates.
  • Participating in projects by completing tasks within schedule and budget.
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, and electronic communications.
  • Participating in meetings, seminars, conferences, and committees.
  • Occasional project site visits and field work.

Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Electrical preferred) or relevant discipline
  • E.I.T. highly preferred; you should be on the path to obtain P.E. licensure
  • 0-3 years' experience working in a relevant field. Will consider Spring 2024 graduates with applicable internship experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in all MS Suite
  • Capable of executing basic design tasks using AutoCAD software
  • Ability to travel as needed
