What You Will Do:
What You Will Do Gannett Fleming’s Transportation Planning Practice provides environmental investigations and planning studies for the transportation, water resources, land development and community planning projects. We are seeking a motivated transportation planning professional Transportation Planner with 3+ years of experience to join our team in Tampa, FL! The successful candidate will assist in providing transportation planning assistance for a wide variety of projects, including multimodal (highway, transit, bicycle/pedestrian, and freight) planning tasks. Perform routine assignments which are clearly defined and allow for the development of basic skills and application of prescribed techniques and procedures. Assignments may involve interpretation of planning guidelines and policies that will be evaluated by a senior level staff member. Principal Responsibilities and essential functions
- Prepares basic planning studies and details with limited complexity in support of broader transportation planning activities involving multimodal systems
- Gathers and records information to be used in transportation planning studies.
- Prepares first draft of studies and routine technical reports or sections of reports.
- May assist in traffic operations and/or travel demand forecasting.
- Works as part of a project team within the transportation planning discipline.
- May interfaces with clients, data collection, attendance of meetings.
- Limited professional society engagement
Education | Experience:
Minimum Qualifications Education and Licensing requirements
- BA in Planning or related field
- In process for American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred
Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or experience
- 3 + years of applicable experience
- Experience with GIS preferred
- Working knowledge of operational and travel demand software preferred ( Cube, PTV, TransCAD)
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Good oral and written communication skills
