Job Description
Your role at GEI.GEI’s Woburn, MA and Franklin, MA offices are seeking a motivated structural or geostructural engineer to assist on a variety of projects throughout the region. Project types will include buildings, infrastructure and transportation, dams and levees, and waterfront development.Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Support evaluation and design efforts for structural steel, reinforced concrete, excavation support systems, foundations, and other above and below grade structures.
- Perform lateral earth pressure analyses.
- Perform structural analysis and design calculations.
- Assist in preparing design packages with calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Observe and manage field explorations and construction activities.
- Assist in overseeing specialty geotechnical construction such as deep foundations, tiebacks, support of excavation, among others.
- Prepare technical letters and reports.
- Develop proposals and participate in other business development activities.
- Collaborate with GEI Staff and Clients across various offices, regions, and disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical or Structural Engineering is required.
- M.S. in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering preferred.
- Geotechnical and structural course work required.
- 2 to 4+ years of experience.
- Experience working in a team environment and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to travel on temporary assignments as needed.
- Able to perform field work on active construction sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
