Job Description

  The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Princeton University invites applications for two faculty positions, one at the rank of Assistant Professor, and one at any tenured or tenure-track rank (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) in the Mechanics, Materials and Structures (MMS) program of the Department (http://www.princeton.edu/cee/graduate/programs/mms/), with a preferred start date of September 1, 2024. Candidates must have the ability and motivation to develop a vigorous independent research program and to participate in collaborative efforts of the faculty. The successful candidate will have a PhD in an appropriate field and a proven record of innovation and creativity in conducting research addressing important and emerging topics within the broad scopes of, but not limited to, computational mechanics, infrastructure systems, robotics in CE, architected and multifunctional materials, and advanced manufacturing and construction, as applied to the pressing civil engineering problems related to resilience, sustainability, and livability of the built environment, circular economy, and climate change adaptation. The successful candidate would join a dynamic department with world class undergraduate and graduate programs in civil and environmental engineering. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching foundational undergraduate and advanced graduate courses in CEE while also embracing the many transdisciplinary connections across Princeton.
