Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world. You will join our Water Resources-Construction Management departmentAs our new Resident Engineer/Construction Manager you will be part of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic CM team working on County and/or State agency projects. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Plans, schedules, and oversees inspectors and administrators on project related activities.
  • Oversees work performed by Contractors hired by Owner
  • Assembles team at project initiation to review job specific issues (schedules, health & safety issues, subcontractor coordination, etc.)
  • Assigns roles and responsibilities for field activities in accordance with the Project Execution Plan
  • Leads the change management process including proper notification and research and assembly of supporting data for Project Manager review and processing
  • Negotiates Change Orders and Claims with Contractors at the direction of the Project Manager and Owner
  • Participates actively in creating a safety culture in the office and at the jobsite
  • Serves as Project Site Safety Leader (in absence of full time Health & Safety Supervisor)
  • Collaborates with Project Manager in the development and modification to the Project Execution Plan
  • Updates the Project Manager in accordance with the Project Execution Plan as it relates to cost, schedule and client management
  • Functions as the primary interface with clients during a project, obtains client feedback and maintains client relationships
  • Manages the execution of the commissioning and closeout processes.
  • Adheres to the policies and standards set forth in the Firm’s Quality Management System
  • Utilizes Owner's document management system and any other database systems required for project related items

  • Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to apply for reciprocity in additional states as needed
  • 8+ years' experience as Resident Engineer/Construction Manager
  • State Agency experience a plus
  • Ability to read plans/drawings/specifications and interpret data
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling and estimating techniques
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling, estimating, and document control software (Primavera, CM14, Unifier, eBuilder, Prolog, CostWorks, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of operation and use of a variety of construction equipment
  • High level of energy and ability to motivate employees
  • CCM, USACE CQM, CCCA, NICET a plus
  • Water/wastewater plant construction management experience a plus
  • OSHA 30-hour Safety Training a plus
  • Knowledge of machinery and rigging a plus
