Job Description

Your role at GEI.We are seeking a Coastal Engineer Senior Practice Leader to add technical and project management expertise to our growing business throughout North America.   This position will be based in Ontario, Canada and provide support through GEI’s north American operations.Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Project management and technical lead for coastal engineering projects related to shoreline protection, flood mitigation and resiliency, marine structures, dredging, and waterfront development projects.
  • Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events.
  • Manage projects and staff, including providing technical leadership and oversight, risk management, and mentoring.
  • Work closely with coastal engineering and ecological staff in other GEI offices.
  • Assist in recruiting and training additional staff.
  • Serve as a leadership role model for company culture and values across the organization.
  • Overnight travel may be required; approximately 10%.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of B.S. degree in Civil, Marine or Coastal Engineering or related field.  M.S. preferred.
  • 20 + years progressive experience in coastal engineering and planning with at least 10+ years in a project management and business development role.
  • Recognized for technical excellence and development of client-focused, creative and practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to support Federal, State/Provincial and local agency and private development projects throughout North America.
  • Professional Engineering license required.
