Job Description

  A wide range of engineering services means that we can respond professionally to your geotechnical engineering requirements, both onshore and nearshore. Our geoscientists and engineers have expertise in guiding data collection programs, identifying and analyzing geohazards, advising on foundation siting and design, and routing roads, pipelines, and cables.The Geoconsulting Lead will lead the development of project opportunities and markets, with emphasis on the greater Dallas/Ft. Worth and the North Texas region and will be overall responsible for the revenue generated in this region.The focus of the position is to win and manage commercially attractive work aligned with the business strategy, and actively participate as a key member of the Geoconsulting management team. The role acts as the primary manager and client contact for multiple projects. You will supervise multi-disciplinary project teams and subcontractors, and handle all aspects of consulting business, including participation in service line coordination meetings, business and client development, and direction of technical work.Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver sustainable profitable revenue and growth for the Geoconsulting service line.
  • Works with and leads local teams to identify opportunities and use consultancy mindset to turn them into high-value projects that match company focus areas and strategy.
  • Supervise project execution ensuring the same level of delivery is provided according to what was negotiated whilst seeking opportunities to up sell company services
  • Initiate and upsell extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies.
  • Be proficient in project management with a strong commercial mindset and good negotiating skills. Continuously seek opportunities to commercialize the full value the organization brings to assignments.  Continuously identify growth opportunities for the organization.
  • Ensure seamless coordination with the CMET group for accurate implementation of engineering design recommendations when both services are provided by Fugro on the same project.
  • Ensures clear and consistent internal communication with local and USA teams to foster an environment of inclusion and transparency. Sharing and connecting individuals to better leverage opportunity pursuit.
  • Meet the business development and/or marketing objectives set by the supervisor.
  • Prepare and submit larger proposals including effective ‘win’ strategies
  • Deliver the successful completion of engineering projects
  • Direct team members or individuals assisting on projects.  Mentor performance excellence and adherence to quality standards.
  • Produce accurate invoices and collect fees from clients promptly.
  • Direct and monitor the AC’s Aged Receivables (AR) and direct collection efforts to maintain cash position and flow.
  • Prepare monthly backlog estimates including all active and prospective projects. Prepare yearly profit plan for the Geoconsulting service line in the region.
  • Meet utilization goals as determined by the supervisor.
  • Support and encourage continuous improvement of the company's processes, including the safety program and quality management system.
  • Promote commercialization of company digitalization initiatives and provide improvement feedback from the client and practical delivery knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • 15+ years of relative, post-graduate experience required.
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Geology, or equivalent.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience with infrastructure and transportation projects, including for TXDOT, in the greater Dallas/Ft. Worth and the greater Texas region are required.
  • Experience in the water, industrial, and/or vertical markets is welcome.
  • Familiarity with Construction Materials Testing is desirable.
  • Effective client relationship management with a dedicated client base and the proven ability to produce annual revenue.
  • Proven leadership experience regarding business development and business improvement processes is required.
  • Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures, and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing, and competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
  • Possess a valid passport and current driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills including a comprehensive understanding of writing for engineering documents and related legal terminology. Ability to competently and professionally present project materials in client meetings including identifying and mitigating client concerns.
  • Able to negotiate technical, commercial, legal, ethical, and sometimes abstract concepts and communicate effectively and positively with internal and external stakeholders at operational, management, and executive decision-making levels and statutory authorities.
  • General knowledge of sales, pricing, and negotiating.
  • Ability to comprehend nuances of legal contract language and negotiate terms in the best interest of the company.
  • Stay abreast of current professional practices, periodicals, and technological advancements. Maintain meaningful involvement in professional organizations.
  • Advanced knowledge of technology including standard office and engineering software and equipment.
  • Must be able to travel (international and domestic).
