Job Description
SOLAR DEVELOPER
Job Summary
As a solar project developer, you will collaborate with the solar operations team to combine the best sites and technologies to produce the most effective solar energy solutions for clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform assessments of qualified potential customers’ business and solar energy needs, including basic site characteristics, challenges, and opportunities
- Implement customers’ objectives, energy usage, utility rate schedules, incentives, and financing options to develop the most cost-effective solar energy solutions
- Ability to evaluate, scope and specify systems for commercial rooftop and ground mount projects
- Strong working experience with development and forecasting tools such as Energy Toolbase, or Helioscope required.
- Well-versed in project siting, interconnection, permitting, prospecting, and other due diligence initiatives for commercial and utility-scale solar and battery storage projects
- Solid understanding of the RFP / RFI process as it relates to project development initiatives
- Provide progress reports and other status updates to sales team and management as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 5+ years of solar project development experience
- Ability to develop solar projects from initial feasibility through budget analysis to final proposal
- Deep understanding of solar energy systems
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Confident using business management software such as NetSuite and Project Management Tools
- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate preferred
