Job Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Water Resources Engineer with experience focused on transportation engineering projects in the Fluvial and Coastal environment in our Mt. Laurel, NJ, Office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform and lead junior staff in hydrologic and hydraulic design calculations for stormwater management systems and/or bridge hydraulic and floodplain studies. Tasks include hydraulic modeling, using various industry-standard software, preparing sketches/plans, technical reports, and similar technical work as required.
- Coordinate with the design team to achieve environmental compliance and assist in developing permit applications.
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and coordinating design work internally and with other disciplines.
- Review plans, and details and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
- Support and coordinate with Highway, Structural, and Geotechnical Engineer design teams and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- BS in Civil Engineering
- Must be a detailed-oriented, self-starter, comfortable working in a team environment and ability to work on multiple projects at once.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Math Skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with any of HEC-RAS, HY-8, SRH-2D, HydroCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis, MicroStation (including InRoads), AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of GIS software is a plus.
- Project experience involving hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, floodplain studies, channel stability, hydraulic modeling, bridge scour, and environmental permitting.
- Familiarity with FHWA, USACE, and AASHTO design guidance and New Jersey Administrative Code (NJAC 7:8, 7:7 and 7:13) is preferred.
- Licensed NJPE preferred, other jurisdictions of licensure are also acceptable.
