Job Description
LOCATIONIrvine FULL-TIME/PART-TIMEFull-Time EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPTNon-Exempt DESCRIPTIONLeighton has an immediate opening for a Laboratory Soils/Materials Technician in our Irvine location.Pay Scale: $18.00 - $21.00 Job Duties Include:
- Performing laboratory tests on construction materials (moisture content, compaction, sieves, hydrometers, atterberg limits, corrosion suites and expansion index, concrete flexural strength, etc.)
- Apply basic computer data templates, interpreting test data and preparing reports of test data
- Calibrating laboratory equipment and maintaining calibration schedule and records
#ZRQualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 1-2 years in a civil engineering or lab testing. Willing to train an entry level candidate who demonstrates motivation and aptitude.
Required Skills:
- Strong Math skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work in dirty soils environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and operate hand-controlled testing equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
