We are looking for Laboratory Manager with experience in materials testing laboratory and geotechnical engineering to work in a diverse environment with a variety of clients and professionals.POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing daily operation of both a concrete and soils laboratory;
  • Perform various testing procedures including but not limited to soil moisture, moisture-density, grain-size analysis, Atterberg limits testing, direct shear testing, and concrete compressive strength testing;
  • Perform computations and graphing of laboratory results;
  • Maintain documentation, certifications, testing procedures, and supplies in an orderly manner that meets and maintains AASHTO and CCRL accreditations;
  • Maintain QA/QC procedures;
  • Calibrating of laboratory and field equipment;
  • Train and supervise laboratory technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Ability to maintain accurate records;
  • Basic math and computer skills;
  • Familiarity with and ability to comprehend applicable ASTM standards;
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, etc.);
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time;
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record;
  • Participation in a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as required;
  • Willingness to travel to projects within southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Construction materials testing laboratory and/or soils laboratory testing experience;
  • ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification;
  • Previous experience with GeoSystems software or equivalent.
