Geocomp seeks a detail-oriented, highly motivated, and experienced Junior Staff Accountant to join our accounting team at our Headquarters in Acton, MA. In this position you will perform accounting activities such as assisting with monthly close, client billing and revenue generation, accounts payable, expense report processing, timesheet review and posting, maintenance of the general ledger, review of various accounting reconciliatory reports, audit preparation support, and other activities as directed. You will report to the Controller and work closely with our accounting team in a fast paced, high energy, collaborative, and rewarding work environment.



  • Accounts Payable
    • Maintain vendor files within accounting system
    • Process expense reports
    • Process sub-contractor/consultant invoices and vendor checks
  • Invoicing / Billing
    • Compile accurate timekeeping and expense data
    • Develop contract invoices and other deliverables as per contract terms
    • Maintain associated Accounts Receivable information and process cash receipts
  • Timekeeping
    • Setup and maintain employees in Time and Expense
    • Perform timesheet audits in support of contract invoicing and payroll
    • Preparing and posting journal entries
  • Account analysis and reconciliation of select balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure financial statement accuracy
  • Month-end close procedures
  • Act as back-up for Payroll processing
  • Offer suggestion about process improvement


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 2 years of solid accounting experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and professionalism
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills
  • Ability meet hard deadlines and multi-task/prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Strong computer skills (proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Outlook)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Deltek Vision, including Time and Expense desired
  • 1-2 years of payroll experience desired
