Our team in Guam is looking for Construction Manager / Geotechnical Engineer to provide engineering and construction management for our water & wastewater projects (i.e. pumping stations, tanks, pipelines, treatment facilities, etc.) and other local agency and federal agency projects. Future assignments may include water, transportation (roads, trails, traffic improvements), as well as marine/coastal, environmental, and municipal work throughout the region.In the problem solving business, it helps to be restlessly curious to deliver community change.Our vision is to ensure energy, water and urbanization are made sustainable for generations to come.   • Collaborating and providing project oversight by maintaining communications between project teams, clients and contractors to deliver projects on time, at or under budget, and to the client’s expected standard of quality
  • Serving as primary project contact, and building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Adhering to and advocating for health and safety protocols
  • Managing and engaging in the design of projects, including the geotechnical and soils related aspects
  • Providing input concerning constructability and biddability during design and developing project construction schedules and budgets
  • Overseeing contractor’s compliance with all requirements of project design specifications and drawings
  • Processing pay estimates; make appropriate recommendations to client on payment issues
  • Maintaining document control including processing all project correspondence, documents, and drawings; preparation of various technical reports
  • Providing appropriate responses and/or recommendations on design and construction issues; coordinate with engineering team on technical matters
  • Negotiating Change Orders on behalf of the client and coordinating with the Design Engineer, as required
  • Conducting and coordinating project closeout activities
  • Coordinating equipment and process startup, testing, and optimization
  • Contributing to the financial monitoring and reporting of our consulting services contract, including invoicing, budget tracking, progress reporting, and change management
  • Managing the project team and maintaining project requirements for safety, quality and productivity to ensure they are maintained throughout the duration of the project
  • Identifying business development opportunities, contribute to procurement efforts including proposal and interview preparation

What you will bring to the team:

  • Familiarity with and ability to develop, read and interpret contract plans and specifications, construction schedules, and cost estimates
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Powerpoint and ability to use construction management software applications such as Procore and CMIS
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • A record of successful client relationships
  • Ability to work independently and as either a member or a leader of a team
  • Ability to work collaboratively toward solutions to issues and challenging situations
  • Dedication, enthusiasm, and high ethical standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent degree
  • Guam Civil Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain license within 6 months.
  • Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential preferred
  • Minimum 15 Years’ experience as a civil engineer, geotechnical engineer, construction manager and/or resident engineer on site development, waterfront, water and wastewater and/or roadway/highway transportation projects
