CONSTRUCTION SERVICES PRACTICEMichael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers, estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.DESCRIPTIONMichael Baker International is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management team. Under the direct supervision of the Project Supervisor, the Construction Inspector will monitor, document and report that the work is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.  Responsibilities include:

• Inspect various facets of work on the construction site as needed
• Take field measurements and perform calculations
• Prepare relevant inspection reports
• Review and perform QA/QC on project deliverables
• Assist with Process Commissioning
• Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used
• Ensure that construction conforms to the project plans, specifications, and special provisions
• Maintain and update as-built drawings
• Maintain submittal and RFI logs for respective projects
• Attend meetings including client meetings as required
• Support proposal development
• Perform other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 1-5 years of experience working in a construction related field
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Have or willing to obtain OSHA 10, OSHA 30 and Lead Pipe Certification 
• Experience working in construction related field (PWSA, Water Authority, preferred)
• Possess basic math skills necessary to perform computations for length, area, and volume
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and procedures
• Availability to work various shifts, including night shift. Overtime is often required.
• Ability to sometimes work in adverse weather conditions and/or confine space. Must be physically able to perform moderately strenuous tasks which includes walking along rough terrain, climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.
