Perform code analysis for new structures including determining required design loads and recommending construction types. Calculate structural design loads including dead, live, wind and seismic loading Use 2D drafting software to create construction documents. Use of company standard details and formats will be heavily utilized. Use 3D drafting software (REVIT) to model new construction Use preformatted template calculations to compute repetitive analysis of new and existing structures. Use general finite element analysis software such as RAM Structural and ETABS to perform unique analyses of new structures. Coordinate internally with local design team to ensure compatibility with other disciplines for construction documents. Coordinate externally with other consultants, clients, and review boards to ensure project alignment with overall goals. Work will be guided by senior-level engineers to provide feedback and answer questions. Provide oversight and share knowledge with junior level engineers to teach previous roles and responsibilities. Ensure that structures are following the state-mandated design codes for all structural elements (ASCE 7-16, AISC, SJI 44th Edition, ACI, FBC, AASHTO). Telecommuting is allowed.
#LI-DNIHere's what you'll needREQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or related field and 2 years of work experience in the job offered or related occupation.SPECIFIC SKILLS: Expertise/ knowledge of: Structural design loads including dead, live, wind and seismic loading and how to select correct values of these. Applicable Federal and state codes. Structural design principles including free body diagrams, shear and moment diagrams, and LRFD design principles. Communicating technical information to non-engineers; interface between design team and clients for technical reports. 2D and 3D drafting skills using REVIT. Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
