Job Description

  T&M Associates is seeking a Staff Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our Structures Team in the Transportation Department! This role is ideal for a candidate with solid structural design experience, particularly in the rehabilitation and design of buildings, bridges, and small structural projects. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, based out of either Middletown, Mt. Laurel, or Bloomfield, NJ, combining remote work with in-office collaboration.Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural engineering calculations for the design and rehabilitation of bridges, culverts, bulkheads, and small horizontal structures
  • Conduct both visual and in-depth inspections of bridges, culverts, and horizontal structures
  • Prepare detailed drawings for various structural projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure the accuracy and timely completion of drawings
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns, providing guidance as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master’s degree is a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in the design of horizontal structure
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) license required; PE license is a plus
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and InRoads is a must.
  • Knowledge of STAAD Pro, RAM Structural, or Finite Element Analysis is a plus
  • Experience with NJDOT projects and familiarity with their design standards, procedures, and requirements
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to develop accurate design calculations
  • Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
