This unique opportunity is at the forefront of the engineering and mining industries. The Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our state-of-the-art advanced geotechnical soils laboratory, ensuring that we deliver the highest level of service to our clients. This position is also instrumental in implementing new technologies and methodologies, ensuring that Knight Piésold remains the leader of new innovations and schools of thought in the industry.
- Supervise and manage all aspects of the geotechnical soils laboratory operations, ensuring efficient and effective processing of laboratory specimens and timely delivery of test results.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of laboratory technicians, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Provide on-the-job training to laboratory technicians and engineers within the company.
- Manage inventory and resources, ensuring the lab is well-equipped to meet the needs of our clients and staff.
- Liaison to the Knight Piésold professional staff and clients.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, constantly striving to enhance our services.
- Responsible for troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and software systems.
An Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of five years of field and laboratory geotechnical testing methods, techniques, and results interpretation required.
- Minimum of five years of supervisory experience required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Engineering degree or equivalent education a plus.
CompensationIn accordance with Colorado state law, the following annual compensation range is applicable for the job and Colorado location associated with this requisition: $115,000 – $145,000/year.
