As a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to follow projects from concept through construction, working on current and upcoming design-bid-build and design-build projects in highways, rail, water, environmental, ports, and advanced facilities sectors. By joining our practice you’ll be responsible for leading geotechnical aspects associated with the design of shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, and slope stabilizing measures. You will also be responsible for coordination and generation of geotechnical-based specifications and preparation of data, baseline, and interpretative reports. Skills that are required to serve in this role include, but not necessarily limited to, knowledge and experience in the following areas: • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Experience with exploration methods, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, and laboratory testing of soil and rock • Knowledge of the process to design shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and slope improvement • Preparation of technical reports, design drawings, and specifications • Familiarity with computer programs for geotechnical analyses, such as SLIDE, SETTLE3, LPILE, APILE, Shaft, FB Multipier or Group, and GRLWEAP Here's what you'll need• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering • 5-10 years of geotechnical consulting experience • Professional Engineering (PE) license • Ability and willingness to visit and safely navigate construction and project sites and comply with all applicable safety codes and requirements Ideally, you'll also have:• Master's Degree with concentration in Geotechnical EngineeringJacobs’ health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
