Our TYLin Water team continues to grow our practice and your passion may find its next home here as a Water Engineer supporting the design and implementation of innovative infrastructure projects in Buffalo, NY. As a Water Engineer you will work in collaboration with the Program Manager through the planning, design and construction phases of these projects which may include all aspects of sewer conveyance/storage and real-time control smart sewer and waste treatment.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

While the primary work responsibilities will focus on Buffalo, NY to support a number of water infrastructure projects and community activities under the Program, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work under the direction of TYLin’s Equity Practice Leader to support the Equity Practice Group’s key clients for community-centered water, wastewater, and climate projects nationally. The candidate will also build upon TYLin’s ongoing effort to grow the Equity Practice a community-informed planning strategy for the positioning of new client/community opportunities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning and Engineering design and consulting for complex assignments, including conditions assessments, project site visits, report preparation, hydraulic calculations, utility plans, technical specifications, cost estimating.
  • Preparation of design and construction documents for wastewater and water facilities, climate resiliency projects, and conveyance/treatment projects.
  • Review of engineering designs, bid packages, RFPs, and Statements of Work prepared by others, as part of a program management role.
  • To active leadership in assignments as a member of a team, including peer mentorship of design and consulting staff. 
  • Lead project management responsibilities, under the guidance of the Buffalo, NY Program Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience: minimum 5+ years of experience in water and wastewater design/engineering and climate resiliency infrastructure consulting – performing studies, design, and construction services for municipal clients. Demonstrated experience developing designs and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Certifications, Licenses: Professional Engineering (PE) licensure, or working towards licensure, preferred.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $80,400 - 160,000 annually for this position and local market.
