DescriptionYour role at GEI. GEI’s New York Metro Area offices (NYC, Long Island, North Jersey) are seeking motivated interns to assist with projects throughout the U.S. in Summer 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from our team and gain a wide range of experience in the fields of engineering, environmental science, or architecture. Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist with engineering analyses and design.
- Observe fieldwork, including construction activities.
- Perform computations, prepare spreadsheets, and prepare and edit drawings using AutoCAD.
- Assist with preparing proposals and reports.
- Assist with data management and analysis, and preparation of field documentation and reports
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuit of a B.S. or M.S. in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering. Soil mechanics, structural analysis, or similar course work preferred.
- Pursuit of a B.S. or M.S. in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Science.
- Pursuit of a B.S. or B.A. in Architecture.
- Minimum 2 years in a technical degree program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel on assignment, if needed.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to work in the field, as needed.
- Ability to perform field work in active construction sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather, if required.
