Job Description

  We are are representing a leading engineering consulting firm specializing in geotechnical, environmental, and materials testing. They have been at the forefront of key Houston projects for nearly 30 years! These include Commercial, Residential, Industrial and Municipal projects.Position Overview:
As the Geotechnical Department Manager, you will oversee all aspects of geotechnical engineering projects, manage a team of engineers and technicians, and ensure the successful execution of projects from concept to completion. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining client relationships, expanding our project portfolio, and ensuring the highest standards of technical excellence.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the geotechnical department, overseeing project planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Provide technical expertise on geotechnical engineering aspects, including soil analysis, foundation design, slope stability, and more.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments (environmental, civil, etc.) to deliver integrated project solutions.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and staff, ensuring continuous improvement and career growth within the team.
  • Oversee proposal preparation, project scoping, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Actively participate in business development activities to grow the geotechnical portfolio in the Houston area.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas.
  • 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing geotechnical projects, from small-scale to large, complex assignments.
  • Strong understanding of local geotechnical conditions, building codes, and regulatory requirements in Houston and the surrounding areas.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
  • Proficiency with geotechnical software and analysis tools.
