We are representing a prominent engineering consulting firm with a strong focus on geotechnical, environmental, and materials testing projects. Our Houston office is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Geotechnical Operations Manager to oversee the operations of our geotechnical projects and ensure seamless coordination between teams, clients, and stakeholders.Position Overview:
As the Geotechnical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the operational oversight of all geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring efficient project delivery, high-quality standards, and client satisfaction. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and clients, along with a focus on optimizing processes, managing resources, and improving profitability.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the geotechnical department, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve project efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure adequate resource allocation and project scheduling.
- Monitor project performance, addressing any operational issues and making adjustments to optimize outcomes.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, including resource estimation, timelines, and project scopes.
- Work closely with senior management to align departmental goals with company objectives.
- Manage relationships with clients, ensuring high-quality service and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the department's processes and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering or construction management, with at least 3 years in an operational or management role.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, project management, and operational efficiency.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with a keen eye for process improvement.
- Familiarity with geotechnical analysis tools, industry standards, and local Houston regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication skills and experience in client management.
