  • Leading and supporting detailed design of solid waste management facilities in Western Canada
  • Processing survey and LiDAR point clouds 
  • Developing Civil3D models
  • Ensure drawings meet specifications and standards
  • Implement QA/QC processes for project work
  • Providing cut/fill volumes and material take-offs
  • Assisting in general design support during construction and record drawing project phases, as needed
  • Attending project meetings as required
  • Support facility planning
  • Mentorship and delegation to more junior designers
  • Work closely with the environmental specialists to support environmental approvals
  • Advance GHD’s Western Canada Solid Waste Management practice

What you bring to the team:

  • Must have successfully completed a relevant degree or diploma at an accredited polytechnic, college or university;
  • Minimum 15 years of design and drafting experience;
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D is a must;
  • Experience with waste facilities (i.e. landfills, transfer stations, compost facilities), industrial facilities, civil grading and drainage, piping and utilities;
  • Experience with Infraworks, ReCAD and Navisworks would be considered an asset;
  • Experience with Revit would be considered an asset;
  • Positive attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organization and time management skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication;
  • Experience within other areas of civil design (e.g. transportation, water) would be considered an asset;
  • Experience with ACC (Autodesk Construction Cloud) would be considered an asset;
  • Experience working on multi-disciplinary design projects would be considered an asset;
  • Experience in consulting would be considered an asset;
  • Professional membership/eligibility would be considered an asset.
