 Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Civil Design Section anticipates additional workload growth in 2023/2024 and is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to provide support and additional bandwidth for new and upcoming work. The person in this role would support the civil design group in various roles including managing projects, acting senior civil technical advisor, and lead senior engineer on various engineering related deliverables including plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and supporting calculations. In the role of Senior Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Lead and/manage multi-disciplinary and civil related projects.
  • Work with and mentor mid and junior engineers.
  • Lead and/or assist with preparation of contract documents.
  • Lead development of plan drawings, technical specifications, design documentation reports, bid quantities, and construction cost estimates.
  • Redline plan drawings and coordinate with AutoCAD drafters and Civil 3D designer.
  • May perform site visits to confirm field conditions.
  • Perform engineering assignments that require critical thinking and creativity to address unique elements that have limited or no specific code-based guidance.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience
  • Professional registration or license
  • Experience preparing designs utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Field experience related to civil construction
  • Experience related to water resources projects
  • Experience related to design of canals

The expected compensation range for this position is $111,342.00 - $159,060.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
