We specialize in analysis, design, evaluation, monitoring, and rehabilitation for a wide variety of transportation infrastructure projects. We offer a wide range of expertise to support client needs for both new and existing transportation infrastructure.RoleAs a construction inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing contractor’s field activities, recording daily activities, overseeing junior inspectors if needed, and preparing daily field inspection reports. You will mentor and work directly with the chief inspector’s directions and communicating contradictions between field operations and contract documents.Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret project plans, specifications, permits, and other pertinent contract documents.
- Inform the Resident Engineer of relevant observations, including the progress of the work, problems that develop, and work proactively in identifying potential problems/issues.
- Recommend workable solutions to problems/issues encountered.
- Monitor the contractor’s safety program for compliance with the construction contract requirements.
- Attend Weekly Safety Meetings with Inspection Staff.
Requirements:
- NICET Certified or equivalent with BS Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Bridge construction work experience, 3-10 Years.
- Familiarity with bridge projects in highly populated areas (including NYC).
- Ability to be decisive, detail oriented, communicative, professional, and team-oriented.
- Relevant industry associations such as OSHA, ACI, ATSSA, etc.
CompensationThe rate for this position generally is $45 - $65 hourly. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
