DescriptionYour role at GEI. We are seeking a motivated Environmental Quality Assurance Chemist / Data Validator to assist with Laboratory Data Review. The qualified candidate will be part of our Data Management Team and can be either an in-person or a remote employee reporting to our Glastonbury, CT office. Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Data Validation using United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regions 1, 2, 4, and 9 and Connecticut DQA, Massachusetts CAM, NJ DKQ and National Functional Guidelines
- Have a strong understanding of various analyses including, but not limited to, VOCs, SVOCs, Pesticides, PCBs, Herbicides, Dioxins/Furans, specialty analyses including GS/MS/SIM and various air analyses, metals, cyanide, and various wet chemistry analyses.
- Assist in developing QAPP for various projects as needed.
- Serve as a laboratory liaison to provide technical advocacy for projects including analytical methodology and sample matrix related issues and their effect on data usability and data package reporting level requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills required, strong computer skills with technical analysis software.
- Bachelor's Degree, from an accredited college or university in Chemistry and 10 years laboratory and/or validation experience.
- Willing to work overtime as required.
- Ability to work efficiently with a virtual data management team located throughout the U.S.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously and independently.
- Proven capability to critically analyze and solve problems of a complex nature.
- Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines.
- Able to work effectively in GEI’s partnership model, including a team environment, building rapport and relationships.
