Entry Level Civil Engineering/Water Resources EngineerCivil Engineering - Water Resources engineer will collaborate with Senior Engineers and Project Managers on drainage design for various projects including civil roadway design (roads, bridges, airports) as well as standalone roadway and riverine flood control projects. You will utilize your engineering knowledge and skills to assist in the preparation of essential project elements such as basic studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, reports, and all supporting documentation and calculations. Depending on your experience level, you will be responsible for leveraging CAD software and other specialized drainage software packages to develop construction documents.Responsibilities

  • Primarily work in the office preparing basic studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation and calculations.
  • Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely and accurate document or drawing preparation.
  • Assist with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits.
  • Conduct occasional field visits to project sites to investigate, record, and photograph local conditions.

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 0-5 years of experience with hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) models such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS.
  • Basic understanding of stormwater management and principles of hydrology and hydraulics of stormwater runoff.
  • Ability to learn company policies, procedures, and relevant software quickly. Gain an understanding of the company's service offerings and the client's standards and procedures relevant to your projects.

Valuable Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CADD software like AutoCAD and MicroStation; Esri ArcGIS software; and H&H modeling software like Hydraflow, PondPack, and HEC-RAS is a plus
  • Working knowledge of NJDEP, NYSDEC and PennDOT environmental compliance is a plus
  • Organized, determined, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing project demands.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE/EIT) is desirable
