  • Preparation and development of commercial proposals in conjunction with the bidding areas for different clients in Latin America. 
  • Develop business, win jobs, and support large bidding teams, including submissions, negotiations, proposal preparation, development, and review of cost estimates and engineering schedules.  
  • Support the development and implementation of geosciences strategies consistent with the divisional and regional plans of the Geosciences Service Line.
  • Conducts and supervises geotechnical engineering through field investigations to design, train, mentor, and develop junior and intermediate personnel. 
  • Provide geotechnical engineering knowledge on mining projects and activities, including tailings strategies, mine dam safety, mining infrastructure, geological site reconnaissance, geotechnical characterization of the site (including overburden drilling and rock coring), geotechnical analysis (including slope stability, seepage, dynamic responses,  dam stability, etc.), advanced geotechnical laboratory analysis, geotechnical engineering design, seismic and liquefaction assessment, risk assessments, owner geotechnical engineering and inspection, geotechnical testing and quality control/quality control reports.
    Integrate with multidisciplinary engineering and geoscience professionals within Worley.
  • Assume the responsibilities of a superior technical authority in the geotechnical mining sector, including, but not limited to:
    1. Oversee the technical competence, maintenance, and progression of the geotechnical mining area of expertise, including recommendations for resource endowment;
    2. Functional responsibility for aligning and driving practice and managing resources toward opportunities across locations and the region;
    3. Aggregates information (projects, experience, knowledge base, etc.) based on practice requirements and drives RD/BD for practice 
  • Supervise the execution of the project concerning the technical and quality standards of the discipline.
  • Attend and lead meetings with clients, and provide summaries and presentations of client- and industry-oriented projects.
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard business support systems, i.e., project planning packages, cost management systems, ISO9001 quality management systems, will be valued.
  • Demonstrates awareness of health, safety, and environmental issues; Take steps to ensure that nothing is harmed to all colleagues, customers, contractors, and the environment.
  • Promote a culture of zero harm within the company.

What will you bring?You will have extensive experience leading a team of geotechnical areas in various areas, with previous experience in Tailing being favorable for the mining sector.Requirements:

  •  Education: Professionals Civil/geotechnical engineering, Geologist or related to the position.
  •  Experience: More than 20 years of experience related to the practice of geotechnical engineering in mining, including mining geotechnics and mining infrastructure, earthen dams and water retention structures, tailings structures from pre-feasibility studies to detailed design to construction.
  •  Languages: Advanced English Level C1 mandatory – Intermediate Portuguese Level B1-B2
  •  Travel: You must have availability to travel within and outside the national territory
  •  Competences:
    • Proven track record in business development and support to large bidding teams, preparing proposals, and developing engineering and capital cost estimates.
    • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment within the region.
    • Strong business relationships and networking
    • Effective communication 
    • Organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong leadership skills
