As a multi-discipline firm, Isett provides a full range of engineering and consulting services, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, environmental, geotechnical, and municipal engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, code enforcement, plan review, construction management, construction materials testing, and grant writing services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
We are currently looking for an experienced geotechnical engineer to join our team in either our Allentown, Mechanicsburg, Wilkes-Barre, Hazleton or Scranton offices.
Our ideal candidate will possess a strong technical education, professional demeanor, and substantial experience in the field. They should be mindful of professional etiquette while managing relations with associates, clients and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform field sampling, characterize subsurface conditions, and complete geotechnical analysis to support geotechnical investigations.
- Provide third-party oversight and testing during foundation and earthwork construction activities;
- Prepare field reports and logs summarizing work performed;
- Complete safety training required by Isett, clients, and jobsites;
- Prepare and effectively implement health and safety plans (HASPs);
- Obtain and maintain state and federal clearances, if required by project;
- Meet deadlines mutually established between project manager and clients;
- Prepare proposals for geotechnical engineering services; and
- Assist with mentoring and training of other associates.
Requirements
- 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience;
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Geology required; Masters degree with Geotechnical specialty or desire to pursue is preferred.
- EIT or GIT Certification required ; PE or PG License preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff, co-workers, management and clients;
- Strong verbal communication skills, technical writing ability, and attention to detail;
- Comfortable working outside in diverse weather conditions;
- Ability to travel to project sites is required along with a valid driver’s license in good standing;
- Ability to work flexible schedule.
- Ability to obtain state and federal clearances, if required by project.
