Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a Documentation Technician - Civil to join our Energy team.
Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Working with the Design Team Leader, you will be involved with:
- Assist in the 3D modelling specific to Dams for tailing storage and hydropower | pumped storage application.
- Integration of the model to the overall site development plan of the project.
- To assist the team in the preparation of detailed 3D models, particularly of Dam and other salient features of the project components (as required).
- To be able to support globally the wider GHD Team as necessary through Direct Workshare engagement
- Assist Business Group Team Leader and/or Project Manager with technical and management/operations tasks.
- Prepare 3D modeling drawings covering aspects related to Dams
- Ability to prepare 2D, 3D drawings (as applicable) covering other disciplines (E&M, Structural, Electrical) is an advantage
- Preparation of detailed drawings and/or good for-construction drawings
- Prepare concept solutions and ideas for discussion and conceptual development, recommend improvements and innovations
- Be accountable for the technical quality of the given tasks. Pursue professional development opportunities.
- Knowledge, understanding, and application of GHD's Quality, Environmental Management, and Occupational Health, Safety & Rehabilitation Systems.
What you will bring to the team:
- Professional experience 3D Modeling is required
- At least a minimum of 5 years of working experience in modeling of Dams |Tailings Dam | Hydropower | Pumped storage projects, etc.
- Well versed in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or OpenRoads software is a must
- Ability to prepare 2D, 3D drawings (as applicable) covering other disciplines (E&M, Structural, Electrical) is an advantage
- Able to understand details, and functionality of each salient feature of a typical Dam structure is an advantage
- Being knowledgeable about local and international standards is an advantage
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; proven ability to develop, mentor, and lead professional technical staff
- Self-starter, detail-oriented, hardworking, honest, and responsible
- Focus on client service
