JOB DESCRIPTION
Hill International is hiring for our ongoing airport project in Crete: Construction Manager (Crete - Greece) Location: Heraklion Crete - Greece (Full-time) Reporting: Project Director Package: The Company offers a competitive remuneration package and possibilities of career development within a dynamic working environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervising and overseeing the progress of the construction works, ensuring that specifications and requirements are met.
- Manage the site team, ensure that all team members adhere to the project goals, requirements and standards, roles and responsibilities are followed, and solve issues as they arise.
- Ensure that team working schedules are diligently followed, inform in advance on any required and/or ad-hoc changes.
- Communicate with the Project Director continuously regarding project progress and areas of concerns.
- Advise Project Director of any foreseen slippage of progress and propose corrective actions .
- Review and initial assessment of monthly progress, provide accurate and complete input for project certifications, liaise with the project controlling team.
- Review weekly and monthly reports as presented by Contractor and present to PD comments of non-compliance, and/or area of concern.
- Writing and/or reviewing PM reports and keeping on top of required paperwork
- Attend Executive meetings, weekly Progress meetings, Quality meetings and Safety meetings with Contractor and any other stakeholder deemed necessary and ensure that weekly technical meetings are attended by all relevant disciplines.
- Ensure that all PM staff are aware of the project approved procedures, designs and drawings, liaise with design management team and ensure full alignment of design management and site team.
- Review and monitor in a timely manner, the Contractors proposed construction equipment and manpower histogram and
- Ensure Contractor Compliance with its Contractual obligations concerning Design changes.
- Εnsure that all contractual requirements are met by the project team operation.
- Regular daily visits to Project site for monitoring of site activities in respect of Quality, Safety and Progress and advise Project Director of findings, areas of concern and corrective action.
- Ensure PM staff involvement and implementation of Field Quality Control procedures as well as Safety and Progress aspects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A university degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the construction industry
- Leadership and human resources management skills
- Construction experience in large projects (hospitals, museums, airports etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods,
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards,
- Previous experience in PMC will be consider an asset
- Strong organizational skills.
- Professional knowledge of the English language
- The candidate should be based in or be eligible to work in Greece and be fluent in the Greek language.
