Overview
Seeking a driven, career-minded individual to fill a Staff Engineer position in the Structural division of our dynamic engineering and surveying firm.The successful Structural Staff Engineer candidate will assist in developing structural engineering assessment and investigation reports, construction drawings and structural detailing, structural calculations, and technical specifications for a wide range of structural specific (buildings & site-structural) projects within real estate/land development, infrastructure, transportation, energy, healthcare, education, and government sectors. The Structural Staff Engineer duties include developing structural designs from concept, schematic, to final design, and assist throughout the construction phase. Additionally, this position will perform periodic or continuous special inspections during construction, as well as structural investigations or assessments of existing structures. This position requires work primarily out of South Plainfield, NJ office (Headquarters).
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing structural engineering assessment and investigation reports, and construction drawings
- Develop structural designs
- Preform special inspections and structural investigations
- Work with other engineers on multi-discipline teams
- Manage time and workload effectively
Physical Requirements:

Experience
- B.S. in Civil Engineering.
- 0-3 years Structural engineering experience
- Must have design experience in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Must have knowledge in using RISA 2D/3D software or similar structural engineering analysis software.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to detail
- Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and assignments with competing deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communications as well as strong design skills.
- Motivated and excited to grow with a medium-sized firm and the potential to advance with the company.
- Driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
- Undergo a background check (required)
Preferences
- Some familiarity with the International Building Code and AASHTO
